The actor stated, “My intention was only to highlight Rishab Shetty’s phenomenal performance in the film. I know how much time it would take to do that particular scene the way he did it. I commend him greatly for it.” He added, “I have always deeply respected every culture, tradition, and belief of my country. If I have hurt anyone’s feelings, I wholeheartedly apologize.”

The controversy began when a video of Singh mimicking the scene went viral. Many users on social media perceived this as disrespectful. They accused him of mocking Goddess Chamundi, whom Rishab Shetty’s character embodies in the film’s climax.

An official complaint was also filed by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). The organization alleged that Singh insulted Goddess Chamundi. They had publicly demanded an apology from the actor.

Singh had previously expressed a desire to star in “Kantara 3” while on stage. He is currently anticipating the release of his upcoming film, “Dhurandhar.” The apology comes as he navigates the promotional cycle for this new project.
