Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt recently shared the first photo of her daughter. She also announced the little girl’s name: Raha.
Alia said the name was chosen by her mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor. “The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings,” the 29-year-old actress writes.
It also explains what the name Raha means in different languages. “Raha in its purest form means ‘divine path.’ In Swahili it is ‘joy’. In Sanskrit, Raha is a ‘clan’. In Bengali: rest, comfort, relief. In Arabic ‘peace’. It also means happiness, freedom and bliss.”
Alia closed the post by saying, “And true to her name; From the first moment we embraced her, we felt everything. Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life. She feels like our life has just begun.”
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their first child on November 6.
