Rafa Mir: Sevilla’s Undervalued Asset Seeking a Fresh Start

Week of Reunions at the Sevilla Sports City

The Sevilla squad, minus those who have competed or continue to compete with their national teams, those who have terminated their contracts or assignments, will undergo medical examinations starting Thursday, marking the beginning of the new project led by Xavier Garcia Pepper. The Sevilla players will train with their new boss, aware that they will not have the same roster as the end of the transfer market.

Sevilla’s Transfer Situation

The transfer market has been a topic of interest, especially with regards to Sevilla player Rafa Mir. Despite being available for months, Mir is still attached to Valencia, his priority. Mir has received offers from Italian and German clubs in the past, but he did not press for a transfer as he wanted to play for Valencia. However, Valencia’s economic situation makes it difficult for them to secure Mir’s transfer.

Loan Option for Rafa Mir

Sevilla has offered Mir’s agents a loan deal, provided they take care of the loan token and part of the amortization. Sevilla wants to ensure they do not lose money on the deal, and the purchase option will be set at a price that cancels out the remaining transfer account. Valencia still needs to resolve their financial issues to close the deal.

Time is of the Essence

Rafa Mir is not concerned about his transfer situation, knowing that he will ultimately leave Sevilla. Other players with more complex transfer situations, such as Jordán, Januzaj, Delaney, Augustinsson, Óscar, and Montiel, have more distant transfer prospects. With July 1 looming, Sevilla is eager to resolve these issues, while also accumulating work with the accumulated workload.
