The Women’s National Volleyball Team sensationally defeated Bulgaria this Thursday three sets by two (25-22, 16-25, 25-16, 25-14 and 15-11, in group two, in the continuation of the League National Volleyball Championship, organized by the International Volleyball Federation.
It is the first victory that the Dominicans have achieved in the contest. They have a loss under their belt. The game lasted one hour and 49 minutes. Last year, the Bulgarians beat the Creoles 3-0 in 2022.
Tomorrow, Friday, the Dominicans will face the Netherlands, ranked world number 12, at 3:210 in the morning.
The Creoles’ attack was led by the star Brayelin Martínez with 25 points, followed by Gaila González with 19, while Yonkaira Peña contributed 15 and Jineirys Martínez left with 16. Eve Mejía had 13.
For Bulgaria, which is ranked number 16 in the world ranking, Becheva left with 17, Yordenava with 14, the same as Marinova.
The Queens of the Caribbean dominated in attacks 78 against 52, in blocks with 12-10.
Bulgaria won the first set in close fashion 25-22 thanks to the attack of Becheva and Yordenava.
In the second game, the Dominicans stopped their rivals and left them at just 16 points, thanks to an excellent defense and a consistent attack. Jineirys Martínez and Eve Mejía achieved a good performance.
In the third, the defeated returned to their rights and with good attack and excellent defense they went ahead in the 2-1 game, where they only allowed 16 points to the Creoles.
In the fourth, the Caribbean were inspired and left their rivals at 14 points to level the match at two per side, causing a fifth set. Gaila González achieved a shot at 103 miles per hour.
In the fifth, the Queens of the Caribbean achieved the important victory by winning 15-11.
