Shreyas Iyer then took center stage, smashing 82 runs off 36 balls, including six sixes and six fours. This was a record-breaking performance for Iyer, who reached his half-century in just 22 balls – the fastest in his IPL career. Nehal Wadhera chipped in with 27 off 22 balls, while Glenn Maxwell was dismissed cheaply for three runs. But it was Marcus Stoinis who stole the show, hitting four consecutive sixes off Mohammad Shami in the final over to take Punjab Kings to 245.
SRH’s Bowlers Struggle to Contain PBKS
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mohammad Shami had a torrid time, conceding 75 runs in four overs at an economy rate of 18.75 without taking a wicket. Pat Cummins was more economical, giving away 40 runs in four overs. Debutant Ishan Masinga took two wickets for 45 runs in four overs, while Jishan Ansari conceded 41 runs in four overs. Harsal Patel was the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets for 42 runs in four overs.
