Public Health reiterates call to respect Covid measures

Salud Pública reitera llamado a respetar medidas Covid

Since last Wednesday the 27th, baseball has been played in the 5 stadiums of the Dominican winter tournament: Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Francisco de Macorís, San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana.

Respect for the Covid measures was poorly observed on the first day, especially at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium.

Of the points required by the Ministry of Public Health, the presentation of the vaccination card was observed, but other relevant lines were neglected.

Fans came in wearing masks, but most of them took them off once they were inside and in their seats.

Tampco was observed distancing between fans, which carries danger for the contagion of Covid 19.

Yesterday, Public Health sent a letter to the president of Lidom, Vitelio Mejía, and to all the teams, reiterating the need to respect these measures.

“We take this opportunity to remember that the current context implies an effort between the parties and an attachment to what has been discussed, according to the vaccination coverage as a guarantee of preservation of the health of the attendees, and consequently closing gaps in the transmission of the virus ”Says the letter signed by Dr. Daniel Rivera.

Listin Diario editorialized yesterday on the need for the country’s baseball stadiums to respect the protocols. In the parks, in addition, there are vaccination stations.

Public Health has authorized the entry of different percentages to the stadiums: in the capital 70%, in Santiago and San Francisco 50%, and in the two parks in the East 60%.
