PUBG Mobile Global Championship Kicks Off: 40 Teams Compete for $3 Million

The PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) has kicked off in Thailand, bringing together forty professional esports teams from around the world to compete for a US$3 million prize pool.

The premier mobile esports tournament began on November 24 and is scheduled to conclude on December 14. It highlights the growing international appeal and competitive landscape of mobile gaming.

The US$3 million prize money, announced by the event organizers, underscores the significant financial stakes for the participating teams. This figure positions the PMGC as one of the most lucrative events in the mobile esports circuit.

The championship is structured into four distinct phases, meticulously designed to test the skill and endurance of the competing organizations. This phased approach ensures that only the strongest teams advance.

The initial “Gauntlet” phase saw 16 teams vying for position from November 24-26. Seven top teams from this stage directly secured berths in the grand final, while the remaining nine progressed to the next stage.

The “Group Stage,” running from November 28-30 and December 2-4, features 32 organizations divided into two sets. These teams will play 18 matches to determine further progression. The top three from this stage will also advance directly to the grand final.

Teams ranked fourth through eleventh in the Group Stage will enter a repechage round. This final qualification opportunity offers two additional spots in the championship’s culminating event.

The ultimate showdown, the Grand Final, is slated for December 12-14. This phase will crown the PUBG Mobile world champion for the current season.

Among the global contingent, three teams represent Brazil in the tournament. These teams exemplify the widespread international reach of PUBG Mobile esports.

Fans worldwide can follow the action live on official PUBG Mobile Esports channels. Broadcasts are available on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch, with daily coverage beginning at 11:00 UTC.
