Paris Saint-Germain faces a significant blow as Portuguese international Nuno Mendes has suffered a left knee sprain, sidelining him for weeks and adding to the club’s growing injury concerns.
The Parisian club confirmed Mendes’s injury on Wednesday, stating he will require treatment for an unspecified duration. This setback will keep him from playing for coach Luis Enrique’s squad.
Mendes’s absence also extends to international duty. He is expected to miss Portugal’s upcoming matches against Ireland on the 13th and Armenia on the 16th.
The injury follows Mendes’s full participation in PSG’s 1-2 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich yesterday. He played the entire match, which was the fourth fixture of the group stage.
The Portuguese defender joins an expanding list of injured players at PSG. Achraf Hakimi, Ousmane Dembélé, and Doué are also currently recovering from various ailments.
