PlayStation Portal update: Discover all the news about the portable PS5

A new update is set to arrive tomorrow for PS Portal, a versatile portable accessory designed by Sony for the PlayStation 5. The update will introduce several new features and bug fixes.

What’s new in the PS Portal update

The update will add login support for certain public Wi-Fi networks, resolving a bug that previously prevented connection to some networks, such as those found in hotels or restaurants. To connect, a QR code will open on the console, which must be scanned with a mobile phone and then completed with the necessary validation steps.

The update will also introduce new visual feedback for touchpad areas during remote play, featuring new effects. Additionally, players will have the option to display the remaining battery level as a percentage. To activate this feature, go to Settings > System > Battery and toggle on “Show battery percentage.”

What is PS Portal?

PS Portal is a remote player that allows gamers to enjoy their favorite PS5 games from the comfort of remote peripherals. The device retransmits the console’s signal via streaming, making it easy to take the gaming experience anywhere in the house. To use PS Portal, connect to a Wi-Fi network and use your PS5, even if it’s in rest mode. This allows for seamless gameplay, as long as a good connection is maintained, even when playing away from home.
