President Droupadi Murmu honored several distinguished figures with the Padma Awards at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Lakshminarayana Subramaniam received the Padma Vibhushan for his contribution to the field of Art. Renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and actor S. Ajith Kumar were awarded the Padma Bhushan.
Padma Vibhushan for Lakshminarayana Subramaniam
Lakshminarayana Subramaniam, a renowned violinist, was honored with the Padma Vibhushan. President Murmu presented him with the award for his outstanding contribution to the field of Art.

Padma Bhushan Recipients
The Padma Bhushan is India’s third-highest civilian honor. Director Shekhar Kapur and actor S. Ajith Kumar were among those awarded the Padma Bhushan. Nandamuri Balakrishna, an actor and Andhra Pradesh MLA, also received the Padma Bhushan, dressed in traditional Andhra attire. The late singer Pankaj Udhas was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan. His wife, Farida Pankaj Udhas, received the award on his behalf.

Padma Shri Recipients
The Padma Shri is India’s fourth-highest civilian honor. Singer Jaspinder Narula and puppeteer Bhimavva Doddabalappa Shillekyathara were among those awarded the Padma Shri. Notably, President Murmu broke protocol by stepping down from the stage to honor 96-year-old Bhimavva Doddabalappa Shillekyathara.

The Padma Awards are announced annually on the eve of Republic Day. Apart from the field of Art, President Droupadi Murmu also honored distinguished individuals from various other fields, including sports, medicine, and business.
