Pratibha Ranta is reportedly set to join Kartik Aaryan in the highly anticipated film “Naagzila,” potentially taking over the lead actress role from Sanya Malhotra. This casting news suggests a fresh on-screen pairing for the mythological fantasy.
Filming for “Naagzila” recently began, generating significant industry buzz. The rumored change in lead actresses highlights the production team’s desire for a new face alongside Aaryan.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, emerging star Pratibha Ranta has caught the attention of the filmmakers. She is believed to be replacing Sanya Malhotra, who was previously considered for the role.
While the team is reportedly finalizing Ranta as the female lead, official confirmation is still pending. Her involvement would depend on managing her schedule, as she is also attached to a major Maddock Films project slated for early 2026.
The film is helmed by director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Karan Johar.
Aaryan is cast as Priyamvedeshwar Pyare Chand, a shapeshifting serpent from the mythical Naag Lok (serpent world). This unique concept ventures into a mythological fantasy genre rarely explored in mainstream Bollywood cinema.
Karan Johar previously unveiled Aaryan’s first look via a motion poster in April, which garnered considerable excitement. Johar’s announcement playfully stated, “Humans have seen many movies, now watch one about serpents! Naagzila – The first chapter of Naag Lok.”
The film is scheduled for release on August 14, 2026, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Naag Panchami.
