Police in Luis A. de Herrera have seized the car in which the perpetrators of a shooting in the Dique area escaped, along with its owner. The vehicle was found parked in the Martín C. Martínez and Domingo Aramburu commercial area. However, the owner’s claim that his car had been stolen didn’t quite add up to the detectives, leading to his arrest.
The Incident
A couple and their 5-year-old son were injured in the shooting, which occurred on Sunday afternoon. The man involved is reportedly a member of the “Los Colorados” gang, linked to drug sales. A video circulating on social media, recorded minutes after the attack, shows the driver of the car, shot in the back, getting out to seek help amidst screams. His partner and son were injured inside the Hyundai.
Details of the Attack
The attackers shot at the car at least 17 times from a motorcycle. The driver of the vehicle managed to ram the attacker, but the latter escaped on a car that was following him. The 23-year-old man, identified as a member of “Los Colorados,” was traveling with his 24-year-old partner and their 5-year-old son. The woman suffered the most severe injuries, with bullets entering the right side of the car, including a head wound. She remains hospitalized but stable. The child and father were also injured, with the child suffering a gunshot wound and the father injured in the back.
Investigation
The shooting happened in broad daylight, with dozens of witnesses present. The police recovered the car used in the escape in the early hours, parked in a neighborhood near Martín C. Martínez and Domingo Aramburu. The owner’s unconvincing story about the car being stolen led to his arrest. The case is currently being investigated by the Homicide Department.
