PlayStation 5 Pro: the first details promise impressive improvements

The PS5 was launched at the end of 2020 and despite the complications of buying a copy, there is already talk of its successor. This, unsurprisingly, will be the PlayStation 5 Pro.

The first rumors about the next Sony console are already circulating through the usual channels and now we have more concrete information than we expected. According to the RedGamingTech channel, the improvements will be quite significant.

PlayStation 5 Pro arrives in 2023 with twice the performance

Above you can see the full video where all the details that the source achieved are explained in detail. And right away it leaves us with the indication that the PlayStation 5 Pro will arrive in late 2023 or early 2024.

But the most shocking thing about this rumor is the possible technical improvements of the new Sony console. According to RedGamingTech, the PS5 Pro will be able to double the performance offered by the current model.

Ray Tracing technology will also be improved, with results 2.5 times higher than the current PS5. Also, Sony’s next console will be better suited for PlayStation VR virtual reality titles.

The source claims that these improvements will be possible thanks to more advanced techniques in the construction of this console. The new system will be based on 5nm or 4nm lithography at TSMC.

However, AMD should once again be Sony’s processor supplier for its console with a new architecture. Something that would justify the performance gains advanced by the source.

However, it’s important to remember that the Pro models of Sony’s consoles are often incremental evolutions. If the doubling of the performance of the PS5 Pro compared to the PS5 is confirmed, it will be much more than an incremental model.

That brings us to the usual warning of a good pinch of salt in these rumors. It is still too early to express convictions about the next Sony console, so we should wait for more information on the subject.
