Pawan Kalyan, the actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and his wife Anna Lezhneva are breathing a sigh of relief after their youngest son Mark was injured in a fire at his school in Singapore. The couple’s relief followed a harrowing ordeal when Pawan Kalyan was spotted carrying Mark in his arms as they returned to Hyderabad from Singapore. To express gratitude for her son’s safety, Anna visited the revered Tirumala temple, seeking blessings from Lord Venkateswara.
Anna’s Act of Devotion
At Tirumala, Anna had her head shaved, a ritual that has sparked curiosity among fans. The act is a common practice at the Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple, where devotees shave their heads as a symbol of devotion or to fulfill a vow. Some do it as a gesture of gratitude, while others seek spiritual cleansing before seeking the deity’s blessings. The Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan’s political outfit, shared pictures of Anna’s act on their official X handle, revealing that she donated her hair after the temple visit.
A Symbolic Gesture
According to a report by Gulte, Anna also signed a declaration form, a customary practice for non-Hindu devotees visiting the temple. The document reaffirms her faith in Lord Venkateswara and her intention to seek blessings within the sacred premises.
The incident that triggered Anna’s pilgrimage was a fire at the school in Singapore’s River Valley area. The blaze engulfed the second and third floors, prompting firefighters to rescue panicked students and staff from smoke-filled classrooms. A viral video showed the dramatic rescue efforts, with thick black smoke billowing from the upper floors. Mark, Pawan Kalyan’s son, was among those affected by the fire.
