Current Standing in the World Test Championship
The recent loss of Pakistan to West Indies at home has resulted in a significant change in the World Test Championship points table. Pakistan has dropped to the last position, while West Indies has moved up the rankings. This shift has occurred despite both teams being out of the running for the WTC final.
Impact on Pakistan and West Indies’ PCT
Prior to the last test match, Pakistan was in eighth position with a PCT of 30.13, and West Indies was in ninth position with a PCT of 22.22. However, after the match, Pakistan’s PCT has decreased to 27.98, causing them to drop to the last position. In contrast, West Indies’ PCT has increased to 28.21, allowing them to jump to eighth position.
Upcoming Test Series between Australia and Sri Lanka
The World Test Championship will soon see a two-test match series between Australia and Sri Lanka. Although Australia has already secured a spot in the final, and Sri Lanka is out of the running, the series still holds significance. If Australia wins the series, they may have a chance to claim the top spot in the WTC points table, currently held by South Africa. The final match between Australia and South Africa is scheduled for June this year.
