Otero, Navarro and Lake guide the Stars against Águilas

The Eastern Stars beat the Águilas Cibaeñas with a score of 4-3 in the game on Tuesday night corresponding to matchday 13 of the Round Robin of the winter fall baseball tournament. With their triumph, the representative team from San Pedro de Macorís raised their mark in the Todos Contra Todos to 7-6 and established themselves in the second qualifying place for the final series.

Los Gigantes del Cibao (9-4) are in first place, while Tigres del Licey and Águilas Cibaeñas share third place with 5-8. Andy Otero was the winning pitcher with five innings of two hits, an earned run, two walks and a strikeout. Diogenes Almengó was credited for the save by pitching the ninth inning with a hit, a walk and a strikeout.

Carlos Martínez took the backhand by supporting three laps, a deserved one and four hits in two-thirds of the inning.

For the winners, Yamaico Navarro doubled and single with a run scored and an RBI, as did Junior Lake, who scored two laps, Robinson Canó and Jeremy Peña each had two hits.

For the losers, Melky Cabrera hit a two-run homer, Zoilo Almonte hit a double, Ramón Torres, Orlando Calixte, Luis Valenzuela and Danry Vásquez each had a hit.
