In the revered city of Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Kashmir, a controversy has erupted involving Ori, a well-known figure, who has found himself in a precarious situation. The police have filed a case against Ori and seven others for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp of the Mata Vaishno Devi temple. The eight individuals, including Russian national Anastasia Arzamaskeena, who had accompanied Ori and his friends to Katra, have been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir police.
The case was registered at the Katra police station (FIR No. 72/25) against Ori, Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritik Singh, Raashi Datta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Anastasia Arzamaskeena for violating the orders of the District Magistrate (DM) and hurting religious sentiments. They have been charged under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police action comes after it was reported that the group was found consuming alcohol and non-vegetarian food within their hotel, despite a strict ban on such activities in the area.
Ori and friends face FIR
According to the Reasi police, despite the strict prohibition on alcohol and non-vegetarian food in the Cottages Suite area of Katra, the group was found consuming alcohol within their hotel. Following a complaint, SSP Reasi Parmveer Singh (JKPS) directed strict action against the offenders, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards any activity that disrupts the sanctity of religious sites.
Police investigation underway
The Reasi police stated that a special team, supervised by SP Katra, DSP Katra, and SHO Katra, has been formed to investigate the matter. Notices will be sent to all accused, including Ori, directing them to participate in the investigation. SSP Reasi reiterated that anyone found violating the law, particularly engaging in activities like alcohol or drug consumption at religious sites, will be dealt with strictly.
Leader Sunil Sharma condemns the incident
Sunil Sharma, the opposition leader in Jammu and Kashmir, strongly condemned the incident, stating that it is unfortunate that a Bollywood celebrity has hurt religious sentiments. He emphasized that such an act should never have occurred at Mata Vaishno Devi, a symbol of faith for millions. Sunil Sharma appreciated the police action, saying that an FIR has been registered and demanding strict action against all those involved. He further stated that consuming alcohol and non-vegetarian food at such a sacred place is completely unacceptable and should not be tolerated.
