OPPO to Launch Ultra-Thin Flagship Smartphone to Compete with iPhone 17 Air

Samsung is set to unveil its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Edge, on May 13, 2025.
The device is expected to be incredibly slim, measuring just 5.84mm in thickness, as part of Samsung’s aggressive strategy to dominate the market before Apple releases its own ultra-thin flagship, the iPhone 17 Air, later in 2025.
The iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be even thinner at 5.5mm.

Chinese Brands Respond with Their Own Ultra-Thin Flagships

This move has prompted several Chinese smartphone manufacturers to accelerate their development of ultra-thin flagships to compete with both Samsung and Apple.
A tipster known as Digital Chat Station recently revealed on Chinese social media platform Weibo that OPPO is working on an ultra-thin flagship smartphone.
The new device is expected to be part of the Reno and Find X series.

It’s anticipated to be around 6-7mm thick, thinner than the recently released Find X8s+, which measures 8mm and weighs 198 grams.
The Find X8s+ boasts a 6,000mAh battery, MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset, 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple-camera setup with 50-megapixel sensors.
