OnePlus has introduced a new smartphone in China, the Ace 6T, which pairs a powerful, next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon chip with features often found in premium devices, signaling a potential shift in the mid-range market.
The Ace 6T is the first smartphone launched in China featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This chip is manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 3-nanometer N3P (Performance-Enhanced Node) process.
Its 8-core CPU includes two high-performance cores running at up to 3.80 GHz, designed for demanding tasks like gaming and multi-application usage. Six high-efficiency cores operate at up to 3.32 GHz, balancing performance and power saving for general use.
While slightly less powerful than the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (4.61 GHz), the new chip’s performance is impressive. It is comparable to the 2024 flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite (4.32 GHz).
The device also boasts a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. It offers an industry-leading 165 Hz refresh rate, providing exceptionally smooth motion. An under-display fingerprint sensor is integrated into the screen.
Powering the device is a substantial 8,000 mAh battery, supported by 100 W fast charging capabilities. The phone also includes a cooling channel to manage heat.
For photography, the Ace 6T features a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Its main camera offers a 50-megapixel sensor, complemented by an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.
The Ace 6T runs on ColorOS 16 in China, based on Android 16. It also carries robust durability ratings, including IP68, IP69, and IP69K. These certifications ensure complete dust protection, water resistance in fresh water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, protection against high-pressure water at up to 80 degrees Celsius, and resistance to high impact.
The Ace 6T will be available in black, green, and purple color options. It uses Micro-Arc Oxidation (MAO) coating technology and features a metal frame.
The smartphone will launch globally under the name OnePlus 15R. This international version will share similar specifications and design with the Ace 6T, but will not offer a purple color option.
OnePlus is expected to release pricing details and availability timelines for the Ace 6T soon.
