The latest OxygenOS update for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro integrates Bitmojis. What to style your home screen. Of course, the patch also offers several improvements and optimizations.
Owners of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be delighted to hear that the manufacturer has just released a new OxygenOS update. Be careful though, don’t expect a revolution. In fact, the main new feature brought by this patch is in AOD Bitmojis integration, a feature already present in OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R and OnePlus North.
Designed in partnership with Bitmoji Snapchat, this feature “is a fun and expressive way to represent the digital you that lives on the screen, making your phone unique and making you stand out at first sight ” as OnePlus explains on its official blog.
In other words, you will be able to display your Bitmoji avatar on the home screen in Always-on-Display. The small figure will move vertically on its own and may change posture throughout the day depending on its activity and certain data (such as time or remaining autonomy).
Bitmojis and fixes for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro
Also, please note that OnePlus is taking advantage of this update to immediately install its app store, The OnePlus Store, on your device. If you’re not a big fan of passive aggressive marketing, there’s nothing to stop you from uninstalling it, of course. The patch also features August 2021 Android Security Update and also brings several fixes and optimizations. For example, selfie camera portraits are better quality, some navigation issues have been fixed and the overall stability of the system has been improved.
As usual, the update is being released gradually and you may not have access to it yet. It will just need patience. As a reminder, OnePlus has confirmed that it will deploy ColorOS in 2022 instead of OxygenOS in OnePlus 8, 8T and 8 Pro in China. The manufacturer has not yet detailed its strategy for other territories, in particular for France.
