Johannesburg: With new cases of coronavirus infection doubling in one day in South Africa, pressure has increased on the government to impose strict restrictions on the gathering of people who have not been vaccinated. The National Institute of Infectious Diseases announced Wednesday night that 8,561 new cases of infection were reported in the past 24 hours, compared with 4,373 cases the day before.

Experts said the top epidemiologist, Dr. Salim Abdul Karim, had predicted that daily cases of infection in South Africa would reach 10,000 by Monday, but the number of infection cases is now expected to reach 10,000 by Thursday. Of the current cases of infection, 72 percent were found in Gauteng province. The organizers of many events have postponed their events indefinitely and pressure has increased on the government to ban gatherings of people who have not been vaccinated.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Sunday that the lowest level of blockade in the country, that is, the first category, would continue. Analysts say that under this low-level lockdown, a large number of people can gather in the country and this number should be reduced.

I feel good and I can attribute it to the fact that the vaccine showed an effect on the virus. ” Interior Minister Aaron Mtsoledi has also been found infected and is also in isolation. Minister Mondali Gungubele said in a statement that the interior minister is in good health and isolated. Zulu urges unvaccinated people to take advantage of the Wuma Vaccination Weekend campaign in South Africa from December 3-5.
