Taliban leader Abbas Stanekzai says the new Afghan government will be announced in a few days, but will not include former Afghan government officials.
Muhammad Abbas Stanikzai, the leader of the Taliban’s Qatar office, told BBC Pashto that the new government would be a united and joint government that would include all Afghan nationalities, but would not include key former Afghan government officials.
“We want a government that is acceptable to all Afghans, as well as to the outside world,” said Taliban leader Muhammad Abbas Stanikzai.
He said that pious and highly educated people would be included in the Taliban government.
It should be noted that the Taliban took control of Kabul on August 15, but there is still no regular government in the country.
