The doubles run for Nuno Borges came to an end at the Miami Masters 1000 tournament. He and his partner Yuki Bhambri lost to British duo Julien Cash and Lloyd Glasspool.
This was Borges’ first quarterfinals appearance in a Masters 1000 event.
The match was intense, with Borges and Bhambri taking it to a super tiebreak.
They lost 7-6, 3-6, 10-8.
The win took Cash and Glasspool one hour and 33 minutes.
They’re now set to face Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten in the semifinals.
Borges, ranked 42 in the world, will head to Morocco for the ATP 250 in Marrakech after early exits in singles and doubles.
He was beaten by Zizou Bergs in the first round of singles.
