The tech world is buzzing about nubia’s next big release. This ZTE-owned brand is gearing up to launch its new Z80 Ultra, a flagship phone packed with high-end features. It’s set to join the ranks of powerful devices like the RedMagic 11 Pro, both sporting the impressive Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, clocked at a swift 4.60 GHz.
One of the Z80 Ultra’s standout features is its truly uninterrupted display. This phone promises a full-screen experience with no notches or cutouts. Its selfie camera is cleverly hidden right under the screen. This design choice means users get an incredibly smooth and immersive view, perfect for watching videos.
Recently, a tipster on Weibo, a major Chinese social media platform, spilled some more details. The nubia Z80 Ultra will come with a hefty 7,200 mAh battery. While that’s slightly less than the RedMagic 11 Pro’s 8,000 mAh, it’s still a significant power source. This big battery also supports quick 90W wired charging and even wireless charging.
What’s really neat is how nubia fits all that power into a sleek package. Even with such a large battery, the phone’s body stays remarkably thin, measuring just 7.8 mm. It also keeps its weight down, tipping the scales at only 225 grams.

Previous leaks also gave us a peek at the screen’s quality. The Z80 Ultra is expected to feature a flat AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. Its 144 Hz refresh rate means movements on screen will look super smooth, hitting 144 frames per second. This makes the full, uninterrupted display even more impressive.
Under the hood, the phone runs on Nebula AIOS software, built on Android 16. It will also offer up to a generous 16 GB of RAM, ensuring speedy performance.
For photography buffs, the Z80 Ultra doesn’t disappoint. It packs a powerful camera setup:
- A main camera with 50 megapixels and a 35mm focal length.
- A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, featuring a 1/1.55-inch sensor.
- A periscope zoom camera, equipped with an OmniVision OV64B sensor.
- A 16-megapixel front camera, cleverly placed under the screen.

We might not have to wait too long to see this device in person. Word is that nubia could officially launch the Z80 Ultra on October 22, 2025. It will likely come in three distinct colors: Phantom Black, Glacial White, and a special Starry Collector’s Edition.
