Milla Magee, the beauty queen representing England, left the Miss World 2025 pageant in Hyderabad due to family reasons, specifically her mother’s illness. However, Magee claimed the organizers pressured her to get close to the pageant’s financiers.
Magee, who was crowned Miss England, told British media the pageant’s environment wasn’t what she expected. She stated contestants were always told to wear makeup and ball gowns. Julia Morley, Miss World’s CEO, denied these claims, calling them false and insulting.
An official from the Telangana government investigated Magee’s allegations but found no evidence. Jayesh Ranjan, the official, said Magee left due to her mother’s health and that her departure was arranged by the organizers.
The first runner-up for Miss England, Charlotte Grant, replaced Magee in the competition. K.T. Rama Rao, a BRS leader from Telangana, asked for an impartial investigation into the matter, stating that such incidents are unfortunate, considering Telangana’s tradition of respecting women.
Magee arrived in Hyderabad on May 7 and left on May 16, the first time a contestant representing England has been replaced in the 74-year history of the Miss World pageant.
