With an acknowledgment to the captain of the Queens of the Caribbean, Niverka Marte, the Club Deportivo Naco inaugurated this Wednesday the Intramural Children’s Volleyball Tournament with the participation of several invited clubs from the National District, with the support of the Board of Directors and the Association of fathers.
The clubs Futuro VC, Distrito, Varias Luces, Fundación Pedro Martínez, Tormentas del volleyball, Ajapro, New Horizons and the Naco club, as host, see action.
Madelaine Andino, first vice president of the Club Naco Board of Directors, congratulated all the athletes from the different clubs who have made their way through sports and education.
“It’s good that you are focused on doing the sport you love, as well as the effort you put into your studies, so you have our full support,” said Andino, who headed the main medal at the opening ceremony.
The children’s and youth event is sponsored by the Reckitt company and its Sustagen products
Tribute to Niverka Mars
During the event, a tribute and dedication was made to volleyball player Niverka Marte, the current captain of the National Volleyball Team (Las Reinas del Caribe).
The portrait of the athlete was in charge of Lizmar Santos. Then the sports oath was made by Laura Fiallo.
When speaking, Niverka Marte said this: “I feel happy to be here, at one point I was on that side of the court like you. Make a path of life, take it hand in hand with your studies and be an example for the girls who are going up, “Marte thanked.
Immediately afterwards, Marte made the kick-off to formally open the contest. The Queen of the Caribbean also shared with each of the players from the different clubs with great simplicity and dedication.
