Saturday saw a slight improvement, with earnings reaching 39 lakh rupees. However, Sunday, a traditional holiday for movie buffs, brought another downturn. The film earned just 26 lakh rupees, failing to capitalize on the weekend rush.
The real test came on Monday, the fourth day of its release. “Nishaanchi” barely made a dent, pulling in just 10 lakh rupees. This brought its total collection over four days to a mere 1 crore rupees. This figure looks quite bleak when you consider the film’s budget. “Nishaanchi” was made with an estimated budget of about 25 crore rupees. It seems the film’s box office journey might be coming to an early end.
The film marked the Bollywood debut of Aaishvary Thackeray, grandson of political leader Balasaheb Thackeray. The cast also featured talented actors like Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra. Director Anurag Kashyap is known for his unique storytelling style.
“Nishaanchi” weaves together elements of romance, comedy, and gangster drama. It tells the tale of twin brothers who face challenges of deceit and love. Some viewers even felt a certain vibe reminiscent of “Gangs of Wasseypur.” Despite its interesting premise and cast, the film failed to impress audiences enough to generate strong box office numbers.
