Andy Moss, widely regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history, has recently disclosed that he is recovering from cancer. Moss, a member of the Hall of Fame, made this announcement through a live broadcast on his Instagram account.
Moss, known for his exceptional speed and agility on the field, had been a regular commentator on ESPN’s Sunday special, ‘Sunday NFL Countdown.’ However, he has been absent from the show due to his health issues.
In his Instagram live broadcast, Moss revealed that he had undergone surgery and treatment after being diagnosed with cancer in the bile duct, located between the pancreas and the liver. He expressed his gratitude for the support he has received and announced that he will return to his commentary role once he has fully recovered.
Moss’s NFL Career and Philanthropic Efforts
Moss played for the Vikings for seven seasons (1998-2004), where he had his most successful years in the NFL. He was later traded to the Oakland Raiders and played for several other teams, including the Patriots, although he did not achieve a championship ring during his time in New England.
Moss has decided to make his illness public to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research. He has put the sweatshirt he wore during his Instagram live broadcast up for auction, with all proceeds going towards cancer research. Moss expressed his gratitude for the support he has received and emphasized the importance of continuing to fight against cancer.
