Samsung has just unwrapped its latest mid-range phone, the Galaxy F17, in India. This new device builds on last year’s Galaxy F16, which came out in March 2025. It shares many looks and features with the Galaxy A17, a phone launched in August 2025. But the F17 brings a few fresh changes: a slimmer body, less weight, and new color options called Violet Pop and Neo.
The Galaxy F17 sports a large 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. It shows crisp Full HD+ pictures and refreshes 90 times per second for smooth visuals. This display gets quite bright, peaking at 1,100 nits. A strong Corning Gorilla Glass Victus layer protects it from scratches. At the top, a small U-shaped cutout, known as Infinity-U, holds the 13-megapixel selfie camera.

Under the hood, Samsung gave the F17 a performance boost. It now runs on the mid-tier Samsung Exynos 1330 chipset. This chip is built using a 5-nanometer process and clocks in at up to 2.4 GHz. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G68 MP2. This is a step up from the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip found in the Galaxy F16. That older chip was a 6-nanometer design, also running at 2.4 GHz.
The Exynos 1330 works with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Both versions come with 128GB of internal storage. If you need more room, you can add a MicroSD card up to 2TB. Powering all this is a large 5,000 mAh battery. It supports 25W fast charging, which should keep the phone running all day.

For snapping photos, the F17 packs a triple camera setup on the back. The main camera has a 50-megapixel sensor with OIS, which helps keep shots steady. There’s also a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone features a fingerprint sensor on the side for easy unlocking. Its body is quite slim at just 7.5 mm thick and weighs 192 grams. It also comes with an IP54 rating, meaning it can handle dust well and splashes of water from any direction.

A standout feature for the Galaxy F17 is its software commitment. It launches with Android 15, topped with Samsung’s One UI 7.0. The company promises a generous six years of software updates and security patches. This means the phone will stay current and secure for a long time.
You can find the Galaxy F17 online at Samsung.com and through its retail partners. The 4GB RAM, 128GB storage model starts at 14,499 Indian Rupees. If you want more memory, the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage version costs 15,999 Indian Rupees.
