Nazila Sitaishi Receives Backlash for Not Fasting During Ramadan

Social media influencer Nazila Sitaishi, formerly in a relationship with Lock Upp winner Munawar Faruqui, has been facing severe backlash online. The controversy began when Nazila posted a video on International Women’s Day, where she took her mother out on a special date, complete with flowers, lunch, and desserts. However, as the month of Ramzan progressed, she started receiving hate comments, with many accusing her of not keeping the fast and being insensitive towards her mother’s faith.

In the video, Nazila is seen surprising her mother with a bouquet of flowers and taking her out for a fun-filled day. They enjoy drinks, junk food, and even indulge in a tiramisu cake, with Nazila emphasizing the importance of doing something nice for her mother. However, the online community was quick to judge, assuming that neither Nazila nor her mother was observing the fast.

The criticism prompted Nazila to post an Instagram story, explaining that the video was shot before Ramzan and thus, did not reflect their current activities during the holy month. She wrote, “I usually ignore hate, but reading these comments under my last post with my mom was really disheartening and disappointing. I don’t need to explain myself to anyone, but since some of you are so shameless, I just wanted to say that this was shot before Ramzan.”

Nazila’s clarification sparked a heated debate, with netizens divided into two factions. Some argued that it was her personal life, and she shouldn’t be judged for her choices. As one commenter pointed out, “There could be various reasons for not fasting – periods, health issues.” Another user chimed in, saying, “If people start minding their own business, there would be so much peace in the world.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Nazila’s post highlights the challenges faced by social media influencers, who often find themselves under scrutiny for their personal lives and choices. As the online community continues to debate and discuss Nazila’s actions, it raises important questions about the boundaries between personal and public life, and the need for empathy and understanding in the digital age.
