Namibia Player Wins ICC Award For Second Time In History

Award Recognition for Outstanding Cricket Performance

The International Cricket Council has announced its awards for exceptional player performance in 2024. Among the notable awardees is Gerhard Erasmus, a skilled all-rounder from Namibia, who has been named the ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year for the second consecutive time.

Erasmus’s impressive performance in both ODI and T20I formats has earned him this prestigious award. In 2024, he scored 364 runs in 12 ODIs with an average of 33.09 and took 18 wickets at an average of 22.38. Additionally, he scored 363 runs in 13 T20I matches with an average of 33.00 and claimed 18 wickets.

Historic Achievement

By winning the ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year award for the second time, Erasmus has created history. He is only the second player to achieve this feat, following Ryan Ten Doeschate of the Netherlands, who won the award three times.
