India’s Squad Announcement for Champions Trophy 2025
Indian Cricket Team’s Squad Selection Strategy
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India’s squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, Yashasvi Jaiswal has earned a spot in the team, after his impressive performances in Test and T20 formats. He might make his One-Day International (ODI) debut. Captain Rohit Sharma has shared his perspective on Yashasvi’s selection.
Captain Rohit Sharma’s Thoughts on Yashasvi’s Selection
Yashasvi has played 19 Test matches and 23 T20 matches for India, yet he is awaiting his ODI debut. Captain Rohit believes Yashasvi’s ability was a decisive factor in his selection. Rohit explained, “Yashasvi was chosen for the team based on his skills and performance.”
Other Key Players in the Team
In addition to Yashasvi, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have also secured spots in the team. Iyer, who was out of the team for a long time, consistently performed well in domestic cricket, which ultimately led to his selection. Other key players in the team include Shubman Gill, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami.
