Motorola just unveiled the Edge 60 Fusion, its first phone in the Edge 60 series to feature AI capabilities through Moto AI. This phone boasts a quad-curved display that gently fits into the back of the device. The phone’s body is certified for color accuracy by Pantone, with a back made of synthetic leather and woven fabric in colors carefully selected by Motorola in collaboration with the Pantone Color Institute.
Pantone is the most widely used color system, developed by Pantone Inc. in the US. It also determines the “Color of the Year,” which reflects current color trends based on societal and cultural influences.
The Moto Edge 60 Fusion features a 1080p+ P-OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 4,500 nits of brightness, 10-bit color support, and HDR10+ compatibility. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and has IP68/IP69 water resistance, allowing it to withstand being submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes and high-pressure water jets at up to 80 degrees Celsius. It also meets the MIL-STD-810H military standard for durability.
Performance and Cameras
This phone is powered by either the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 or 7400 chipset, depending on the region, with processing speeds of up to 2.5 GHz and 2.6 GHz, respectively. It comes with 8/12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of storage, running on Android 15 with various Moto AI features like article translation, conversation summarization, and Magic Canvas, which generates images based on text inputs.
The Moto Edge 60 Fusion has a triple-camera setup:
- A 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony Lytia 700C sensor, OIS, and a Photo Enhancement Engine for automatically adjusting camera settings based on the environment.
- A 13-megapixel ultrawide camera that can take macro shots from 3 cm away.
- A 32-megapixel front camera with 4-in-1 pixel binning for better quality, supporting 4K video recording.
Motorola collaborated with Pantone to ensure accurate color rendering and skin tones, meeting Pantone’s standards. This is achieved through a 3-in-1 light sensor that adjusts exposure appropriately and prevents screen flicker during photo previews.
Battery and Sound
The phone comes with a 5,200 mAh or 5,500 mAh battery, depending on the region, supporting 68W TurboPower charging via USB-C. Motorola claims that charging for just 8-9 minutes can provide a full day’s use. It also features a Hi-Res certified sound system, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and comprehensive connectivity options including 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
The Moto Edge 60 Fusion will be available in three colors: Amazonite, Slipstream, and Zephyr. Motorola will announce pricing soon.
