Motorola presents prototype of a rollable smartphone

Motorola presented a prototype of smartphone scrollable inside of Lenovo Tech World ’22.

This roll-up prototype was created by 312 LaboratoriesMotorola’s internal innovation group comprised of product, research, design and engineering experts from around the world.

This team bases its work on a number of emerging technology trends, including reinventing device form factors to address consumer-highlighted areas of improvement and enable new experiences.

Motorola’s prototype builds on the mechanical innovations that Motorola has already incorporated into its foldable devices, with the goal of conceptualizing how to take advantage of dynamic form factors.

 

 

The brand is currently investing in flexible OLED and pOLED displays to provide the right balance between content and comfort. The roll-up prototype gives form to this idea through a panel capable of adjusting three possible formats (extension, compact and lock screen) with a simple touch of a button.

At just 10.1 cm tall, the Motorola prototype is able to go back to being a smartphone Smaller pocket size than most premium devices from the market.

Whether with a 6.5 inch (16.5 centimeter) screen to experience games immersive or compact in size for more comfortable mobility, this prototype offers endless opportunities for content creation and entertainment, ensuring unprecedented flexibility in a small device with an immersive display.
