A tragic traffic accident occurred on Monday, resulting in the death of a 70-year-old motorcyclist. The fatal collision happened around 9 in the morning at kilometer 113,500 of Route 1 in the department of Colonia. Both vehicles were traveling east when the motorcyclist, who was riding a Jialing Jl 70, turned left to enter a nearby establishment without noticing an oncoming Peugeot 208, driven by a 37-year-old man.
The driver of the car, identified by the initials SOTB, was unable to avoid hitting the motorcyclist, who died at the scene. The motorcyclist was identified by the initials EEID. Fortunately, the car driver was unharmed. A breathalyzer test was administered, and the result was zero.
Investigation Underway
The case is being handled by Rosario’s prosecutor, Hugo Pereira. The scene was attended by the scientific police, staff from the 6th Section of Colonia Valdense, and Caminera. The route was reopened around 11 in the morning after the necessary procedures were completed. The exact circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation.
