Moon Knight: Ethan Hawke is pessimistic about his return to the MCU

/Attention, spoilers to come on the Moon Knight series and on Doctor Strange 2/

Initially leaving to return, Ethan Hawke has he just drawn a line under his adventure in the mcu inasmuch as Arthur Harrow ?

The very eclectic 51-year-old actor, with an already rich and complete filmography (The Magnificent Seven, Valerian, Predestination, Boyhood, Gattaca, American Nightmare, Sinister, Black Phone) entered the very closed world of the MCU to play the role of the antagonist of Moon Knight, Arthur Harrow. A spiritual mercenary obsessed with the scales of justice and the regulation of life on Earth. At the end of the series, Harrow gets killed by Jake Lockleythe third personality dwelling in the body of Marc Spector. However, a few weeks ago Mohammad Diabdirector of the series, had posed the question on Twitter “Are you sure he’s really dead? » in response to a fan’s question about the hypothetical return ofArthur Harrow. A way to kick in touch on his future.

But fans need to learn to be wary with Marvel. Indeed, a death that is not displayed on the screen is not necessarily real. In this sense, many imagine that the scarlet witchapparently dead off-camera in Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness, is still alive. In a new interview with the media Indiewire, Ethan Hawke has cast doubt on his future at Marvel in particular by confiding that they are not interested in long-term commitments:

“I’m not supposed to talk about it. I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement about their treatment, but I’m not interested in long-term commitments. I protected myself because I didn’t know what it was going to be. I just wanted to know what this sandbox looked like. »

As Oscar Isaacit seems that Ethan Hawke does not wish to lock itself into a long-term project. Moon Knight could thus only be a one-shot series, which would be damaging given the dramatic power of the series within the mcu. To be continued, however.
