A life was abruptly cut short this past Sunday afternoon. A 32-year-old man was killed in Montevideo’s Casavalle neighborhood.
The deadly incident happened at the corner of General San MartÃn Avenue and Gustavo Volpe. Police raced to the scene. A special gunshot detection system had reported firearm shots. It noted these shots at precisely 12:53 PM. Officers found the victim’s body on the sidewalk upon arrival.
The man died right there after he was attacked. Officers quickly secured the area. They later found five spent shell casings on the ground. Now, police are carefully reviewing local video surveillance cameras. This work aims to map the escape route of those responsible. It also seeks to help identify them.
According to details shared with News Agency, two individuals rode a motorcycle to the spot. One of them then shot at the victim. The man was a local. He had only recently moved to that specific block. The victim’s body was later found inside a home. Police also reported that the deceased man had three prior criminal records.
