However, Mohanlal has clarified that the pooja was a personal gesture and not done at Mammootty’s behest.
Mammootty has been unwell lately, with some reports speculating about his health. His team has denied these rumors, stating that he is simply observing a fasting period and taking a break from shooting. Mohanlal, in a show of solidarity and concern for his friend’s health, decided to perform the pooja.
When asked about the leaked receipt, Mohanlal suggested that it might have been leaked by an official from the Travancore Devaswom Board, which manages the Sabarimala temple. He emphasized the personal nature of his gesture, intended to wish his friend a speedy recovery.
Mohanlal also spoke fondly of his friendship with Mammootty, describing him as more than just a friend, akin to a brother. They have a close bond, regularly meeting and speaking on the phone.
