India’s new Parliament building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On Sunday morning, the new Parliament building was inaugurated with a puja. A golden scepter or sengal is placed next to the speaker’s seat to symbolize the transfer of power. This sengala is installed by chanting the holy Veda mantra.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, various Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of several states are present on this occasion.

Earlier, Narendra Modi reached the venue around 7:30 am on the occasion of the inauguration of the Parliament building.

The leaders of the ruling BJP and opposition parties were involved in a heated debate over the fact that the country’s President Draupadi Murmu was not invited to the inauguration ceremony of this building built under the Central Vista project. Last Wednesday, 19 opposition parties also announced a boycott of the inauguration ceremony.
