The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Francisco Camacho, affirmed that Dominican sports are experiencing a good moment and took the opportunity to send a congratulatory message from this city to each of the members of the U-19 national soccer team, "who left their hearts on the field" to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“Dominican soccer qualifies for the Olympic Games for the first time and becomes the first sport in the Dominican Republic to get its ticket to Paris 2022,” said the highest representative of state sports, who has been in this city since last Friday to give their moral and face-to-face support to the athletes from Quisquey who participate in the XIX Bolivarian Games.
Last Saturday, Minister Camacho participated in the swimming and weightlifting award ceremonies and was invited to take the kick-off in the soccer match between the Dominican Republic and Bolivian teams.
“It is not only the historical fact of having qualified for the World Cup and the Olympic Games in Paris, but also the outstanding performance that our boys register in the Bolivarian Games, as well as in the different international athletics competitions and other disciplines. , in addition to the great and unprecedented support of our president, Luis Abinader, which includes the construction and reconstruction of sports works throughout the country,” he said.
In addition to congratulating each of the members of the U-19 soccer team, Camacho extended his congratulations to the coaches and the Dominican Soccer Federation, chaired by Rubén García.
