MI franchise beyond IPL: Mumbai Indians (MI), the most successful team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), have expanded their form on the world stage. The Mumbai team, who have won the trophy for the most 5 times in IPL, will now be seen waving their flag in foreign leagues as well. The MI franchise bought two teams in the UAE and South African leagues last month.
Reliance Industries Limited, owner of the MI franchise, announced the name of its team for the UAE South Africa leagues on Wednesday. The Indian franchise has named the UAE team as MI Emirates and its team in the South African league as MI Cape Town. Now these two teams, including the Mumbai Indians playing in IPL, will also be known as members of the MI family.
The MI franchise on Wednesday also released the logos of its two new teams along with the names. He also shared a video on social media to let fans know about it.
Let us tell you that in the T20 league that started in South Africa, the MI franchise had bought the Cape Town team, so it was called MI Cape Town, while the term MI was used before Emirates in the league that started in the United Arab Emirates. Although until now MI has been understood to mean Mumbai Indians, but with the two new teams, MI can be understood as ‘Mi’.
