Meta, the company behind Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has teamed up with Oakley to launch a new smart glasses line called Oakley Meta HSTN. These glasses are designed for athletes and offer improved features over the previous Ray-Ban Meta model, which was also developed by Meta. The Oakley Meta HSTN supports 3K video recording, a significant upgrade from the 1080p limit of its predecessor.
The new model comes with five microphones, Bluetooth speakers for a more immersive audio experience, and Meta’s AI assistant for hands-free control. Users can record videos, play music, make calls, or ask for general information without needing to physically interact with the glasses. The Oakley Meta HSTN also features a camera at the top of the frame for capturing first-person view videos and a touchpad for easier control.

According to Meta, the Oakley Meta HSTN has a battery life of up to 8 hours, twice as long as the Ray-Ban Meta. The glasses also come with a charging case that extends the battery life to 48 hours. Additionally, they support fast charging, allowing users to charge the battery from 0 to 50% in just 20 minutes.
The Oakley Meta HSTN will be available in four colors: Warm Grey, Black, Brown Smoke, and Clear. Each color option comes with five lens choices, and all models are compatible with prescription lenses. Meta will start selling the Limited Edition Oakley Meta HSTN with Prizm Polar lenses on July 11, 2025, for $499. Other versions will be available later in the summer for $399.
