Merry Christmas fails within four days of its release, the film fails to gross even Rs 2 million

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi starrer 'Merry Christmas' has not received much response from the audience at the box office. This film has been struggling to stay at the box office since the first day of its release. Furthermore, 'Merry Christmas' has to clash with many films at the box office including Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Karam', Teja Sajja's 'Hanuman' and Dhanush's 'Captain Miller'. This is another reason why “Merry Christmas” doesn’t turn out as expected. Here let us know how much did Katrina and Vijay's film earned on the fourth day of its release?

The suspense thriller “Mary Christmas” hit theaters this Friday. In this film, the couple Katrina Kaif and Vijay will be seen on screen for the first time. Both of them gave excellent performances in the film, but Merry Christmas doesn't find much audience in theaters and hence the film can't earn much. Talking about the collection of the film, 'Mary Christmas' had collected Rs 2.45 crore on the first day of its release. On the second day, the film earned Rs 3.45 crore and on the third day, Merry Christmas earned Rs 3.83 crore. The first earnings figures for the fourth day of this film's theatrical release are now available.

  • According to Sacknilk's early trend report, 'Merry Christmas' has grossed Rs 1.65 crore on its fourth day of release, i.e. on Monday.
  • With this, the total earnings for four days of “Merry Christmas” now stands at Rs 11.38 crore.

“Merry Christmas” is in poor shape at the box office. This film failed to collect even Rs 15 million in the four days of its release. The film can earn a few crores after a lot of effort. In such a situation, it seems very difficult to recover even half of the cost of this film, which was made on a budget of Rs 60 million. Mahesh Babu's Guntur Karam, which released with this film, has collected more than Rs 80 crore in four days while Teja Sajja's film Hanu Maan has also crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in four days.

We tell you that the movie “Merry Christmas” is based on the French novel “Le Monte-Charge” (Bird in a Cage) by Frédéric Dard. This film is the first collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi. The film was shot and released simultaneously in two languages: Hindi and Tamil.

Apart from the lead actors of this film, Radhika Apte, Aditi Govitrikar and Sanjay Kapoor have also played important roles in the Hindi version of the film. While in the Tamil version of the film, Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jai Babu and Rajesh Williams played supporting roles. The story of this film shows how an incident at Christmas devastates the lives of two people.
