Introduction to the 2025 F1 Season
The global presentation of decorations for the 2025 F1 season is set to begin on February 18 in London. This event marks the start of the launches of the official cars for the upcoming season. Mercedes, a prominent team in the F1 circuit, has announced its plans for the presentation of its new car, the W16.
Mercedes’ Launch Plans
The Mercedes team, led by Toto Wolff, will feature George Russell as its lead driver and Kimi Antonelli as a debutant, filling the spot left by Hamilton. The team has announced that the W16 will be presented on February 24. Notably, this presentation will coincide with the time when the pilots will be traveling to Bahrain for the preseason testing. The testing teams will already be at the Sakhir circuit, preparing for the three days of preseason testing scheduled from February 26 to 28.
Presentation Details
Given the timing, it is likely that the presentation of the W16 will be a pre-recorded video, filmed at Silverstone during the team’s first ‘Filming Day’ of the year. This approach is consistent with Mercedes’ traditional practices. The video will be released on social networks and digital media on the announced date, after being recorded at least a week in advance.
Other Team Launches
Other teams, such as Williams and Ferrari, are also preparing for their car launches. Williams is set to present its new car, the FW47, on February 14, featuring Carlos Sainz. Ferrari, on the other hand, is expected to launch its new car the day after the London event, on February 19. This will be the first red car that Hamilton will pilot.
