McGregor’s Doubts Hold Him Back

Conor McGregor has revealed the reason behind the postponement of his fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303. The Irish fighter announced that he had fractured his left foot’s little toe, not suffered a relapse of the leg injury he previously had. “I was training without proper protection and when I kicked, I broke my toe. I need a few weeks to recover, and I’ll be back,” he said.

McGregor, who anticipated having two fights left on his contract, has taken to social media to reassure fans that he will never enter a fight injured again and will never lose another fight. The statement was met with a response from Ilia Topuria.

Topuria, who has had a history of exchanges with McGregor, quickly responded to the Irish fighter’s announcement. He took to Twitter to express his thoughts on McGregor’s decision to postpone the fight.

Ilia Topuria did not hold back, stating that McGregor is mentally destroyed and that his biggest lesson is to doubt himself, his abilities, and his preparation. He believes that McGregor’s lack of confidence is the reason he failed to show up for the fight.

McGregor and Topuria have had a history of public exchanges, with McGregor previously labeling Topuria as “not a real champion.” Topuria has responded to McGregor’s comments, stating that he does not feel authentic when promoting himself as a fighter. McGregor has also claimed that Topuria would not be the highest-paid athlete in 2025, a statement that Topuria has not publicly responded to.
