F1 World Champion Verstappen Talks Football: A Passionate Barcelona Fan
Max Verstappen, the current Formula 1 world champion, has spoken about his love for football and his passion for Barcelona, the club he supports.
Barcelona Fans are the Best
Verstappen declared himself a "one more culé" and praised the club’s fans, saying "I will always be a Barcelona fan no matter what happens." He believes it will be a difficult season for the team, but he always has to believe.
Lamine’s Precocity
Verstappen is also impressed by Lamine Yamal, a 17-year-old star who has already made a name for himself in the world of football. "Lamine’s is amazing. At that age, playing for your country’s national team and performing like he did at the Euros… it’s something I really enjoyed watching," the Red Bull driver said.
Cruyff’s Message
The Formula 1 world champion also remembers a special moment with the late Johan Cruyff. "Cruyff was an inspiration to me. I met him in 2016. (…) And I will never forget what he told me. ‘I’m losing 2-1 at half-time, but I’m going to win the match.’ He was always very motivated and always believed that he could overcome it."
