Marquinhos stands tall as the most successful player in Ligue 1 history, with 10 titles in 12 seasons. He’s now surpassed Marco Verratti.
The Brazilian captain led PSG to a win over Angers, securing another championship. He beamed with pride, saying, “It’s crazy, I’m really happy. Staying on top for so long is a challenge. These titles will go down in history. We want to win everything.”
He recalled the two times PSG lost the French championship – to Monaco in 2016/17 under Leonardo Jardim, and to Lille in 2020/21. Now, PSG is the only club with more French titles than Marquinhos himself.
He sums up the team’s philosophy: “We give our all, sweat in every game, no matter the opponent. That’s how I’ve played since I was a kid.”
What’s next for PSG and Marquinhos?
The team has three goals left: winning the UEFA Champions League, the French Cup, and becoming the first invincible champion in Ligue 1 history.
Marquinhos looks ahead, “I’m not worried about Aston Villa yet, but we’ll prepare well. The end of the season is exciting, and we have big things coming up. We’ll keep our mentality, and our coach is great at that.”
