Dansby Swanson and the Atlanta Braves won their 12th straight game on Monday, beating the Washington Nationals 9-5 despite losing second baseman Ozzie Albies to a broken left foot.

Swanson hit one of Atlanta’s five home runs and drove in four. Marcell Ozuna and Adam Duvall hit back-to-back homers for the defending World Series champions, who have the longest winning streak in the majors this season.

Albies went down as he was leaving the batter’s box on a groundout to shortstop in the fifth inning. The team announced later that the Curaçao native had fractured his left foot.

Lane Thomas homered and singled for the Nationals.

Dylan Lee (1-0) allowed one run and two hits in 2 1/3 innings.

Nationals starter Erasmo Ramírez (1-1) took the loss after giving up six runs on six hits in three innings.
