Mar Maremoto will offer a workshop at the Graphics and Illustration Festival

Mar Maremoto will be coming to “BLOCK: Festival of Graphics and Illustration” together with PlayGround with a workshop called “Exploratory Self-Portrait” and is open to everyone in Mexico City.

Amidst the variety of festivals that come to the land of the Aztecs, where there is music, cinema and even food, comes “BLOCK: Festival of Graphics and Illustration”; Lovers of drawing, illustration and art will meet here on April 27th and 28th in Doméstico, Nuevo León.

The festival has created a space that aims to unite brands and artists, offering visitors an experience that presents both the proposals of emerging artists and those of illustrators with extensive experience.

In addition, there will be an area dedicated to selling all kinds of design products and you can attend workshops led by great experts.

PlayGorund invites you to the Mar Maremoto workshop

Mariana Lorenzo, better known as Mar Maremoto, is an illustrator and visual artist from Mexico City.

In her work, Mar captures themes of growth, change, self-love, mental health and finding a place in the world, all through bright colors and compositions that highlight women and people from the LGBT+ community.

During his professional career he has worked for clients such as Spotify, Nike, C&A, Paramount, Corona, among others. His illustration work has been used on concert posters for artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Arctic Monkeys and Mitski.

As if that were not enough, she is one of the protagonists of the documentary series “Draw For Change”, winner of the best documentaries at the Cannes Series 2023 Festival.

That’s why it couldn’t be missed at the “BLOCK: Festival for Graphics and Illustration”. During this celebration, Maremoto will offer the “Exploratory Self-Portrait” workshop.

The aim is to carry out exercises in self-exploration of your own being, to describe your identity through observation and drawing. In addition, self-portraits can be created using various tools.

The workshop will take place next Sunday 28th at 11:30am and is only suitable for 24 people. Registration is completely free and takes place via the PlayGround networks.
