Manchester United Closes on Martínez; Hojlund to Napoli, Lindelöf to Villa

Emiliano Martínez is the chosen one for Manchester United's goal

The transfer window’s final day promises a flurry of action at Old Trafford. English media suggests that Manchester United is finally close to solving its much-discussed goalkeeper situation. It looks like Ruben Amorim will indeed welcome a new player to address this issue. Emiliano Martínez is the chosen one, and a deal seems just around the corner!

The Argentine shot-stopper was notably absent from Aston Villa’s squad for their match against Crystal Palace. He is currently deep in negotiations with the Red Devils. Journalist Fabrizio Romano even reports a preliminary agreement between the player and the club. The final step is convincing Aston Villa before all the contract details are ironed out. The same source indicates that Villa is already seeking to sign Senne Lammens, who was also a target for United, to replace ‘Dibu’ Martínez. Diogo Costa also remains on their list of potential replacements.

Meanwhile, a player is leaving Old Trafford. Striker Rasmus Hojlund is making his exit. The Danish forward is already in Italy and will be loaned to Napoli for €6 million. This deal includes a mandatory purchase clause of €44 million.

Lindelöf Joins Aston Villa

After his contract with United expired, Victor Lindelöf signed with Aston Villa. The defender’s deal runs until 2027. The center-back had also received offers from Everton and Fiorentina before making his decision.
